PSV had their Friday morning training session on a pitch beside the Seoul World Cup Stadium, where they will meet Seongnam Ilhwa tonight for the Peace Cup 2005 opening game. Atmospheric humidityPSV had already a training session on the pitch beside the Seoul stadium on Wednesday. It was not as hot then as it is today: there is a sultry, even oppressive heat, a high degree of atmospheric humidity and temperatures are above thirty degrees. The weather was so soggy that just sitting beside the pitch was a sweaty affair. That’s why the PSV players kept on drinking and the cool boxes with water and energy drinks were soon empty. Finishing on targetIt was not a tough training session, but because of the heat the players profusely sweated. All exercises were carried out with a ball and much attention was paid to controlling passes and finishing on target. All four goalkeepers, Gomes, Zoetebier, Coe Cha, the Korean on trial, came into action. Ibrahim Afellay is on his way to recovery from his ankle injury and he is likely to join the squad for group training soon. Roy Myrie Medrano, the Costa Rican defender, who has been handed a trial by PSV, however, is suffering some setback. He is now having individual training sessions, supervised by PSV fitness coach Luc van Agt. Opening ceremonyDefending champions PSV and Seongnam Ilhwa will play the Peace Cup 2005 opening game tonight at 19: 00 local time at Seoul World Cup Stadium after the opening ceremony has taken place.
