Chelsea have stepped up their pre-season preparations by participating in the World Series of Football tournament in the United States of America this summer. A crowd of some 25, 000 saw the London club take an early lead. Robben was put clear by a fine penetrating Makalele pass and the forward placed a low shot just inside the post. The Italians never recovered from the blow and Robben’s early goal turned out to be the winning one. Chelsea will now meet D.C. United in Washington.
