PSV have strengthened their squad with the signing of 32-year-old Michael Reiziger. The experienced defender, who has put-pen-taper on a two-year contract with the Eindhoven side, was officially presented to the press in the Philips Stadium this afternoon. MiddlesbroughReiziger joins PSV from the English club Middlesbrough, with whom he spent over one season. Before he moved to Middlesbrough, he had been in the service of FC Barcelona for seven years and one season with AC Milan. He was an Ajax player from 1990 until 1996. In his spell with the Amsterdam outfit, he closed loan deals with FC Volendam and FC Groningen. Reiziger has been capped 72 times. He has been signed to help fill the void left by the departures of the defenders Young-Pyo Lee and Wilfred Bouma. Reiziger announced he was glad to have made this move. Juan Carlos Carrizo PSV are also going to complete a deal with eighteen-year-old Juan Carlos Carrizo, an Argentinian youth international, who joins PSV from San Lorenzo de Almagro in Buenos Aires. The left-footed attacking midfield player started his career at Argentinos Juniors, the club where also Diego Maradona played his first games. Carrizo made appearances for Argentina U17 and he was called up for the Argentina U20 squad that won the World Cup in Holland last summer. He was not presented in the Philips Stadium this afternoon, as some details had still to be settled. A delegation had come over from Argentina to attend the official presentation.
