Koné included in final Ivory Coast squad (PSV.nl)

Arouna Koné has been named in the final 23-man Ivory Coast squad that takes part in the FIFA World Cup in Germany this summer. Ivory Coast are grouped with Argentina, Serbia and Montenegro and the Netherlands. Africa CupHenri Michel, the Ivory Coast coach, mainly selected players that successfully took part in the Africa Cup at the beginning of this year. The Ivory Coast won the second prize at the Africa Cup. Henri Michel made one change to his squad that faces the Netherlands on 16 June: Lille striker Abdelkader Keita van Lille has been preferred to Saint-Etienne player Siaka Tiene. Two Ivory Coast regulars make appearance in the English Premiership. Kolo Touré (Arsenal) is as steady as a rock in the heart of defence. Didier Drogba (Chelsea) captains the side and he is the one that is generally regarded as a prolific goal scorer. The striker has netted 21 goals from 29 international games so far. The Ivory Coast World Cup squad:Goalkeepers: Jean-Jacques Tizie (Esperance Tunis, Tunisia), Boubacar Barry (SK Beveren, Belgium) and Gerard Gnanhouan (Montpellier, France). Defenders: Cyrille Domoraud (Creteil, France), Blaise Kouassi (Troyes, France), Abdoulaye Meite (Olympique Marseille, France), Arthur Boka (RC Strasbourg, France), Kolo Touré (Arsenal, England), Emmanuel Eboue (Arsenal, England) and Marc Zoro (Messina, Italy). Midfielders: Didier Zokora (Saint-Etienne, France), Emerse Fae (FC Nantes, France), Kanga Akale (AJ Auxerre, France), Romaric Ndri (Le Mans, France), Yaya Toure (Olympiakos Piraeus, Greece), Gilles Yapi Yapo (Young Boys, Switzerland) and Guy Demel (Hamburger SV, Germany). Strikers: Bakari Koné (Nice, France), Didier Drogba (Chelsea, England), Arouna Koné (PSV), Bonaventure Kalou (Paris Saint-Germain, France), Abdelkader Keita (Lille, France) and Aruna Dindane (RC Lens, France).
