Salomon Kalou has been named Most Talented Player of the Year by twelve football pundits, among whom Guus Hiddink, Marco van Basten and Johan Cruijff, so that the young forward will receive the Johan Cruijff Prize.Arjen Robben (2003) and Wesley Sneijder (2004) won that prize in the previous years. Kalou made a breakthrough in the Feyenoord side this season. Thomas Buffel made way for him in the starting line up and Kalou scored twenty goals. He was runner up to his team mate Dirk Kuyt in the top scorer table. Kalou will receive a statue as Talented Player of the Year and he will be given an opportunity to have a ‘Cruyff Court’ installed that will bear his name. Former PSV winger Robben opted for a Cruyff Court in his native place of birth Bedum in the county of Groningen at the time.
