The sun is shining brightly in Liverpool and people in the town on the Mersey are gradually warming up for tonight’s UEFA Cup Champions League quarter-finals second leg between Liverpool FC and PSV at Anfield. Some 1400 PSV fans have made the trip to England by bus or plane, while the pubs in the inner city are colouring red and white, just like they did in November last year.
Most PSV fans like a pint or two of English pale ale and are having a great time in and around Mathew Street, where there are some English pubs as well as the world-famous Cavern Club, where the Beatles started their career. There is a huge Liverpool fan shop in the city-centre, where a massive range of Liverpool-related articles are offered for sale. The weather in Liverpool is just fine. The sun is shining brightly, so it feels like summer. Anfield Stadium will be sold to capacity tonight. Before the game gets underway the Liverpool fans at The Kop will sing ‘You'll never walk alone’.
