Plá closes deal with PSV; Afellay extended (PSV.nl)

PSV have reassessed the contract of Ibrahim Afellay. The youngster has put pen to paper on a contract extension which will keep him at the club until 2010. PSV have also completed the signing of Spanish youngster Pepe Plá. He has signed a deal for three seasons and a half. Ibrahim Afellay19-year-old Ibrahim Afellay has inked a contract extension. The technically skilful midfield player has been a member of the PSV first team squad since the start of the season, after he was handed his debut in 2004. The youngster, who was born and bred in Utrecht, came up through all the PSV youth ranks and is called up for the Young Holland squad. He has been regularly given a place in the starting line-up this season and he has made a great impression upon football pundits both at home and abroad. He made appearances for Holland U20 at the World Cup U20 in Holland last summer.José Plá MoyaPepe Plá, born on 25 January 1987, will make a move from Valencia to Eindhoven this winter. The full left back is from Valencia, where he came up through all the youth ranks. His full name is José Plá Moya and he is a player of the Spain U18 squad. Several clubs from England are said to have shown an interest in him as well, but Plá has chosen for PSV, the more so as Guus Hiddink, who once was coach of Valencia, is at the helm in Eindhoven. Plá himself has regularly announced that he has always wanted to play for PSV.
