Twenty-two year old Osmar Ferreyra leaves PSV and moves to River Plate as from today. The Argentinian was on loan from CSKA Moscow for one season. "We feel he has not been able to meet expectations”, announced PSV head coach Guus Hiddink, when asked to comment. "Next summer we will see how he has developed, as we have an option for one season.” Ferreyra started his career at River Plate in his native country and was then sold to the Russian top side. He made eighteen appearances in his first season, in which he scored two goals. Ferreyra, who was born in Entre Rios, did not leave the bench during the UEFA Cup final. He made only one league appearance during his spell with PSV and was fielded in two UEFA Champions League ties. Ferreyra was sidelined the past few weeks, as he had sustained an ankle injury.Osmar Ferreyra referred to his stay in Eindhoven as ‘a unique experience.’ "Apart from the fact that I did not get much playing time, I have learned a great deal here. I knew I would face tough competition, when I came to this big club. I respect PSV very much and I am glad I have gained experience. I would like to start games, though, and that’s why I have taken the opportunity to go back”, explained Ferreyra, who will leave for his native country tonight.
