PSV reached the headlines last week by the 1-2 victory in Utrecht, John de Jong's return to the training pitch and the fine performances of Koné in the Ivory Coast national team, but the PSV fans most of all liked to read that Luc Nilis will be back in the service of PSV. Nilis is going to start his activities at the Youth Academy at De Herdgang next week. He will work with young players until at least the end of the season.Guus Hiddink announced the news last week. "He will work with the highest junior teams in a coaching capacity. It's a good thing that a star like him wants to pass on his knowledge to the club. It shows what kind of person he is and it shows what kind of club PSV is too. He made the first move himself, which is just fine. He will start his activities one of these days." 38-year-old Nilis, who shone as a PSV player from 1994 until 2000, is going to assist the Young PSV coaches and will watch junior games. The gifted Belgian made 164 appearances for PSV in which he scored as many as 110 goals. He made his debut as a professional player with the Belgian Second Division side Winterslag in 1984. He moved to Anderlecht in 1986, where the forward clinched four Belgian titles and won the Belgian Cup three times. He won the Dutch title with PSV in 1997 and 2000 and won the Dutch Cup in 1996. Nilis went to England after the 1999-2000 season, where he joined Aston Villa. He made only three appearances for his new club. Nilis broke the tibia and fibula of the leg in a collision with Ipswich goalkeeper Richard Wright and was forced to retire from the professional game.Nilis was Manager Technical Affairs at the Belgian second division side Heusden Zolder last season and he will now return to De Herdgang. This is wonderful news for the fans, as the former popular forward is still a favourite of the supporters. They have announced on internet several times that they will chant his name during the PSV-Heracles Almelo game, just like they used to do in the nineties.
