Guus Hiddink has announced at a press conference that he is going to leave PSV at the end of the season. He has been with PSV for the past four seasons and has a great record to boast. While he was in charge, PSV clinched two titles, won the Dutch Cup and reached the Champions League semi finals. Moreover PSV are well on their way to winning the double for the second season in a row. Guus Hiddink pointed out that the team had been in the race for winning trophies all the time, in spite of many changes in the first team squad. But Hiddink now feels it is time to make a move, following four successful seasons.Hiddink announced his decision to leave PSV at the end of the current season to PSV Chairman Westerhof last night. Hiddink has also informed Ooijer, Cocu and Simons, who are the players’ representatives. Hiddink hopes to extend the contracts with those three leading players shortly. Westerhof regrets that the most successful PSV coach and most successful Dutch club coach of all times is going to leave PSV. Westerhof hopes that PSV will be able to make use of the expertise and advices of Hiddink. It was also announced Hiddink will not stay with PSV in a part time function, either.In the presence of many cameras and journalists, Hiddink gave credit to PSV for the professional cooperation. "In spite of many restrictions and changes in the squad, we have been able to find creative solutions."Hiddink expects that PSV will benefit from the Youth Academy, as many youngsters are on the verge of making an impact soon
