Hiddink is poised to ply his trade in Russia next season. The coach, who will leave PSV at the end of the season, intimated on the Dutch TV sports magazine Holland Sport that he will be coach of the Russian national team, although he hastened to add that he had not committed himself completely yet. When hosts Wilfried de Jong and Matthijs van Nieuwkerk asked Hiddink about his future plans, he did no longer beat about the bush and told them he would be coach of Russia next season. Hiddink explained that negotiations are in the closing stages, but he added that no deal had been completed yet. It was the first time the PSV head coach told about his future ambitions in all candour. Hiddink had been linked to the Russia job for some time yet, but he had been tight-lipped about his future until Monday night. "I will be given permission to do things in the same way as when I took charge of the squads of the national teams of Holland, South Korea and Australia. Not the slightest obstacle will be put in my way", explained Hiddink.
