After a lengthy farewell ceremony on the pitch, Guus Hiddink sat down behind the desk in the press room. He thanked those present for their appreciation and analyzed a game at a post-match press conference as PSV head coach for the last time in Eindhoven. "My colleagues and I are grateful that the crowd stayed in the stadium to attend the farewell ceremony. It means a lot to us and we feel it is a gesture of appreciation and recognition."Hiddink was brief in his comment on the game, but took time to look back at his second (four-year) spell at PSV. "The first year was characterized by ups and downs, but we clinched the title anyway. We could not repeat that feat in the second year and then the team was changed. The crowd could identify with a side that put in passionate and spirited performances. They watched quality players at work and although some games were not spectacular and action-packed, we fielded a side for two full years that was highly committed. And tonight the crowd expressed their appreciation and I would like to thank all of you once again."
