Arjen Robben clinched the Premiership title with Chelsea FC, following a comfortable 3-0 win over Manchester United. The former PSV player won the title for the second time in two years. Championship game With three games to go and a nine-point cushion, the hosts, coached by José Mourinho, kicked off the championship game at op Stamford Bridge. Only five minutes were on the clock when the hosts took the lead. A corner was knocked forward by Didier Drogba and William Gallas, who was left completely unmarked, headed home the opener. The game was virtually wrapped up on the hour mark, when Joe Cole superbly finished a solo run during which he rounded some defenders, including goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar. The Portuguese Ricardo Carvalho made it three fifteen minutes from final time, after Cole had picked him out. Van NistelrooyRuud van Nistelrooy started on the bench and was brought on when his side were trailing 2-0. Moments before Robben had been taken off. The 22-year-old forward put in a fine performance. Robben made 27 appearances for Chelsea in which he scored 6 goals. Manchester United are being chased by Liverpool and will need good results in the last tow fixtures of the season to make to maintain their second position in the table.
