PSV head coach Ronald Koeman announced at the weekly media briefing at De Herdgang training ground that PSV give priority to signing a striker who is most likely not from Holland. The coach was unwilling to mention any names.Vulnerable"We will not omit to sign a defender, when opportunity knocks, but completing a deal with a striker takes priority", said Koeman. Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink’s departure and the Champions League draw were hardly discussed. Koeman indicated that his squad is vulnerable. "We have good players, but injuries and suspensions would make this squad vulnerable. But you need financial resource to sign new players." Koeman was asked to comment on the departure of two more Dutch internationals. He claimed the core squad of a Dutch club team should be made up of Dutch players. FC TwenteThe next league game, away against FC Twente on Sunday at 14:30 was not the main topic of conversation. PSV will train one more time, on Saturday at 14:00 at De Herdgang training ground, to prepare for the trip to FC Twente. Ronald Koeman announced: “We have no injury worries. Mika Väyrynen was ill for some three days; we’ll have to wait and see if he is match fit. Da Costa is also fit, so we have a complete squad to pick from."
