He put pen to paper on a three-year-deal yesterday. “This is a great day for me and I am proud to be able to wear the FC Bayern shirt and play here,” said Van Bommel. The 29-year-old midfielder will wear the number 17 shirt, just like he did at Barcelona. Ruud van NistelrooyRuud van Nistelrooy signed a three-year-deal with Real Madrid last month. The former PSV striker had fallen out with Manchester United coach Alex Ferguson. "My relationship with Ferguson had ended, which was very painful. He did a lot for me, waiting for me while I was injured, then giving me a chance to play for one of the greatest clubs and giving me confidence. But what happened, happened.
