PSV‘s Champions League opponents had mixed fortunes in their domestic leagues last weekend. Liverpool suffered an embarrassing defeat, Bordeaux enjoyed a narrow win and Galatasaray snatched one point. 2004-2005 UEFA Champions League winners Liverpool FC slumped to a 3-0 derby defeat against Everton at Goodison Park last Saturday, three days ahead of the crucial Champions League clash against PSV in Eindhoven.Andrew Johnson put in a sparkling performance for the hosts and scored two goals on either side of the break, after Australian international Cahill had opened the scoring.
