For over 75 minutes it looked like Roda JC would grab all three points in the Eindhoven Philips Stadium, but Jefferson Farfán had different ideas: the Peruvian crowned a fine performance as a substitute with a goal and an assist.Tough opponentsFor a number of seasons Roda JC have been tough opponents, when PSV take them on in the Philips Stadium. The Kerkrade based team last enjoyed a win in Eindhoven two years ago, in 18 December 2004, when they saw off PSV 2-0. And last season PSV were trailing 2-0 after only five minutes, but eventually managed to earn a 3-2 win, after Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink had scored a double and Ismail Aissati netted the winning goal. Arouna KonéOnly four minutes were on the clock this Sunday afternoon, when Michael Lamey and Diego Tardelli lost possession. The full left back attempted to set up Diego Tardelli with a back heel pass, but the Brazilian could not control the ball. De Fauw was put clear and he coolly fired the visitors ahead; 0-1. Moments before Lamey had already been shown a yellow card for a minor offence. PSV earned plenty of chances to level the score, but Arouna Koné again lacked cutting edge. The Ivory Coast striker did well, though, when he perfectly squared the ball back for Edison Mendez. Tardelli, however, blocked the ball, so PSV only earned a corner. Koné was subsequently in a one-to-one situation with goalkeeper Kujovic twice. Ten minutes from the break he was out of luck, when his shot bounced agonisingly out from the inside of the post. Cocu was booked for dissent on the stroke of half time, after he had questioned a controversial decision by referee Ruud Bossen. PSV head coach made two changes at half time: Jefferson Farfán and Roy Beerens, were brought on and they created danger straightaway. Farfán singled out Koné, who saw his effort go just wide of the goal and soon afterwards Beerens fired a ball over the goal from close range. Just when Roda JC thought they could hold on, PSV struck quickly and mercilessly. Farfán rounded his marker, before superbly blasting home at the near post; 1-1. With fifteen minutes left, PSV deservedly took the lead. Farfán took a free kick and Alex found the goal in style with the back of his heel: 2-1. Roda JC had just before been reduced to ten men, when their captain Jan Paul Saeijs was sent off for collecting his second yellow card. PSV assistant coach Jan Wouters was cautioned for verbal dissent, just like captain Cocu before the break. PSV were given acres of space in injury time and scored two more goals. First Aissati unleashed a left foot effort that sailed into the top corner of the net and Roy Beerens opened his scoring account for PSV on 92 minutes.
