Ronald Koeman announced at the post-match press conference that he was very proud to see PSV qualify from the group stage of the tournament with two games to spare. He stressed PSV want to do well in the next two matches and win the group. "We are very proud to have quite unexpectedly made sure of reaching the next phase", described Koeman his feelings after PSV had booked a place in the last sixteen with two games to spare. "I am proud of the players and the fans. We’ve achieved a great success. But we shouldn’t forget that we were given a tough time by Galatasaray before the break. They played well in the first half and we lost possession of the ball too much. Yet we didn’t concede much. We have qualified for the next phase, which is the main thing and we should be proud of that”, said Koeman at the post-match press conference.”It is our ambition to win the group”, added Koeman. "We will try to pull off good results in our next two group games. It is rather peculiar that Liverpool and PSV have collected ten points, whereas Bordeaux and Galatasaray have earned just one point so far. It is amazing that we have already progressed to the next phase. We will certainly do our best to give Erik Gerets a helping hand. We won’t take any unnecessary risks, but our substitutes have proved tonight we have more than just eleven players." "It was a similar match to the one we played in Istanbul ", claimed Erik Gerets.”We were even better than a fortnight ago. PSV didn’t play better, but gained the upperhand after the red card. We were obviously made to work harder and got tired. It’s a shame we are left empty-handed once again. My players are disappointed with the result, but will do their utmost to finish third in our group, so we can play UEFA Cup football. And we’ll turn our attention to the Turkish league. PSV played very well after the break and all in all deserved to win”, concluded the Belgian coach.
