Ronald Koeman announced at the weekly media briefing that Michael Reiziger will deputise for Manuel da Costa as left back, when PSV play host to NAC Breda on Saturday night. Carlos Salcido will partner Alex at the heart of defence. Michael Lamey has not been called up to the squad, but Roy Beerens has. Koeman faces a few selection worries. Da Costa and Tardelli are ruled out of Saturday night’s game with ankle problems. “But we expect them to be fully fit next week. They have only picked up minor injuries. Da Costa kicked in the ground and Tardelli picked up a knock to his ankle at training. I would obviously like to have a complete fully-fit squad at my disposal. It’s a shame Da Costa is sidelined; he has been doing so well the past few games”, explained Koeman. The PSV head coach had hoped Da Costa, who is only 20 years, would rise to the occasion. "To be honest, I doubted if he would not be too passionate and commit unnecessary fouls. He proved me wrong and showed maturity an early age. We are well-organised defensively, which makes it easier for him to adapt.” Koeman was asked for his views on the current euphoria following last month’s successes in the domestic league and in the Champions League. "I don’t see any problems, provided we aren’t going to be complacent and take things for granted. But we are in-form and have qualified for the Champions League knockout round. We are hard to beat, if we continue to play this kind of football. Yet we have a hectic schedule and play a game every three or four days and the players must give their all at each and every game. We are able to put in consistent performances, as we have a reasonably experienced team.”
