Young PSV have secured a spot in the final sixteen of the Dutch Cup for reserve teams. PSV, down to nine men, beat Young N.E.C. in Nijmegen on penalties on Monday night. When the final whistle went, the score was 3-3. PSV came from behind three times. They fought their way back into the game by goals from Donny Gorter, Lee Nguyen and Jelle Schijvenaars. In the first half of extra time, Schijvenaars put Young PSV ahead for the first time, but when substitute Rochdi Achenteh had been dismissed following a clash with Patrick Pothuizen, N.E.C. leveled the score; 4-4. When Nguyen had been shown a second yellow card, Young PSV, reduced to nine men, held on and a penalty shoot-out was needed to get a result. The team of Anton Janssen, who returned to familiar ground, proved to be more cool-headed. Dirk Marcellis eventually converted the decisive penalty. Young PSV will take on Young AZ next Thursday night, before they make another trip to Nijmegen next week to face Young N.E.C in a league game. Young PSV line-up:Boffin, Marcellis, De Bock, Carratta (Achenteh), Plá, Boverhof, El Yacoubi (Schijvenaars), Van Boekel, Nguyen, Gorter and Beerens.
