André Ooijer came round in the players hotel on Tuesday to catch up on news with friends and former PSV team mates. The defender, who has joined Blackburn Rovers last summer, had a good long talk with several former colleagues. Ooijer met a number of players in the hotel lobby and also played a nice game of Colonists of Katan, with among other people, captain Phillip Cocu, Timmy Simons and Michael Reiziger. And of course Ooijer paid a visit to masseur and confidant Mart van den Heuvel to catch up on football and family-related affairs. Ooijer lives at half an hours drive from Liverpool and talked, among other topics, about tonights game and English football in general. "It is wonderful to be here what with the ambiance and atmosphere and the fans. We made the trip to Anfield early on in the campaign and it was great to play a game of football in such wonderful surroundings." "Of course I still follow PSV", says Ooijer. "I think its great they do very well both in the domestic league and in the Champions League campaign." The international defender is having a great time at Blackburn. "A great club. At first I was going through a spell of bad luck during the first few games and I needed time to adapt to the Premier League high-tempo passing games. All the lads that come here for the first time have the same problems. But now things are getting better all the time. We dropped a few points, but we have gained from the wonderful experiences. Blackburn are a warm club and the players get on together very well indeed. I think its nice to see the lads and I hope they will also pull off a great result against Liverpool." Ooijer flies to Holland today, as Blackburn face Feyenoord in an UEFA Cup group stage game on Thursday night. "So I will meet Theo Lucius, which is nice."
