Ronald Koeman will stay on as head coach of PSV for the next season. It was announced on Monday that the board of directors and Koeman had assessment talks the past few days, which have led to the mutual agreement that he will serve out his current contract. All parties concerned expressed regret for the way a public discussion has started on Ronald Koeman´s future as coach of PSV, so that, unfortunately, emotions ran high at times. All parties are delighted with the outcome of the discussions that were held in an open atmosphere and are convinced that a solid base has been formed for more successes. Jan Reker, who will be PSV´s General Manager as from 1 July next, also took part in the discussions. Koeman and the board will now turn their attention to the preparations for the next season, in which PSV will defend the Dutch title and participate in the Champions League for the eleventh time in a row. “I am glad this matter is over and I will start preparations for the new campaign with feelings of confidence ”, said Ronald Koeman. PSV Chairman Schuitema, who will resign as Chairman on 1 July and become Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Directors, is also delighted with the outcome of the talks. “The discussions took place in an open and positive atmosphere. I feel confident that PSV, and Ronald Koeman, will play a prominent part on all fronts next season as well.”
