<L CODE="C01">Eric Addo</L> has pledged his football future to PSV. The defender’s contract would have expired at the end of the season, but the Ghana international, who put in some commanding displays in the closing stages of the season, ended speculation about his future by deciding to put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension. <L CODE="C02">Otman Bakkal</L> has been offered an improved contract until the summer of 2010. Eric Addo has been greatly popular with the PSV fans ever since he joined the Eindhoven outfit in 1999. He was inspirational as a defender in the last few matches of the 2006-2007 season and played a major role as PSV succeeded in retaining the Dutch title in the last round of the season. “I am delighted to stay here. There were some other options, but I don’t think I would have been offered better opportunities elsewhere. I have been with PSV for eight years. We are happy here and I am looking forward to showing I am able to add value to the team next season as well”, was Addo’s first reaction to PSV Media.
Otman Bakkal, who spent last season on loan at FC Twente, has seen his consistent performances rewarded with a new two-year contract that will keep him at the Philips Stadium until the summer of 2010. Bakkal will report for duty at de Herdgang training ground at the start of the pre-season campaign to join Ronald Koeman’s first team squad. Bakkal came through the youth ranks of PSV, just like Ibrahim Afellay, Ismail Aissati and Roy Beerens.
