The PSV players were not on a football pitch this Tuesday morning, but played tennis on the gravel courts behind De Herdgang training ground. Jan Wouters took charge as umpire, while the players, judging by the determined expressions on their faces, were anxious to win
Cocu/Reiziger took on Kluivert/De Jong. at De Herdgang ‘centre court’ and De Jong in particular was able to produce some solid serving, while partner Kluivert and opponent Cocu were moving well at the net. Da Costa and Kromkamp played a game of tennis at court No 2. Jan Wouters took charge as umpire, steering everything in the right direction. The players will have a day off tomorrow and train in relaxed circumstances on Thursday and Friday. This season’s final friendly has been scheduled for Saturday afternoon, kicking off at 17:00, when PSV will reshuffle their pack. Ronald Koeman, Jan Wouters and Stan Valckx, among other players, are expected to take the field, when PSV take on amateurs VV Acht who celebrate their 60th anniversary.
