Real Madrid were two goals down at half time to hosts Lokomotiv Moscow, but after the break Real Madrid took control of the match and the Spanish champions enjoyed an emphatic 5-2 win over the Russians on Friday night after. The Spanish champions will consequently meet PSV in the final of the Russian Railways Cup on Sunday.

Real, who did not field their strongest possible team and lacked motivation during the first period, were two goals at half time. They made amends soon after the break, though, scoring two goals in quick succession. And the Muscovites' hopes of reaching the final were hugely dented when Real third scored a third goal on the half hour mark. The hosts even slipped to a heavy defeat after Real netted two more goals in the closing stages. Guti, Higuian, Saviola, again Guti and Balbao found the net for Real. Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was rested, spent some time in the PSV dug-out, where he had a chat with John de Jong and masseur Mart van den Heuvel. Van Gol will meet his old friends on Sunday night, while Lokomotiv Moscow and AC Milan will play a third-place match.
