Goalkeeper Gomes is included in PSV's starting line up for the Johan Cruijff Cup at the Amsterdam ArenA tonight, with a 20: 00 kick off. The Brazilian stopper was doubtful, after he had picked up a minor injury at training on Friday, but has passed a late fitness test. The PSV coaching staff start with Eric Addo at the heart of defence and Jan Kromkamp at right back.
Koeman plays young Brazilian Jonathan as sole striker up front, when reigning champions PSV take on cup winners Ajax. Going into the game, the PSV head coach has the same plan that proved to be effective in PSV's 2-1 win over Real Madrid in Moscow last week. Afellay, Bakkal and Mendez play in midfield, while Aldo partners Salcido at the heart of defence. Kromkamp and Zonneveld operate as full backs. Danko Lazovic is ruled out through suspension, while Jefferson Farfán, Arouna Koné and Kenneth Perez are all sidelined through injuries.
