FC Eindhoven have completed the signing of PSV goalkeeper Ruud Boffin on a one-year loan deal.. The young Belgian will vie for a first-team place with regular goalkeeper Jürgen Hendriks. Boffin has already been called up to the FC Eindhoven squad for tonight's league game away against FC Zwolle. Boffin will meet up with PSV defender Jelle de Bock, who will also spend next season on loan with FC Eindhoven.
Boffin joined PSV from Genk in June 2005. During the pre-season campaign he was handed a trial with FC Eindhoven, where he will be reunited with fellow countryman Jelle de Bock. Boffin, who started his career with Sint-Truiden, has a contract with PSV that runs until 2009. He has never made an appearance for the PSV first team in an official game, but was a non-used substitute a number of times and featured in several friendlies.
20-year-old Brazilian Cássio Ramos, who arrived in Eindhoven yesterday and will report for training for the first time today, will add depth to the goalkeeping group, behind PSV's No.1 choice Gomes and experienced Bas Roorda, who signed for PSV as standby goalkeeper during the summer transfer window.
