Arouna Koné has opened his scoring account for Sevilla FC. The striker, who joined the Spanish side from PSV in summer, brought his new club back on level terms in the 69th minute, after they had been two goals down. The UEFA Cup winners, however, crashed to a 3-2 defeat against Espanyol at home at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on Tuesday night after all.
Sevilla were trailing 2-0 after 54 minutes, but the hosts got back into the game after Jarque had scored an own goal and Koné, who had been brought on as a substitute after the break, had netted an equaliser with a brilliant header. Two minutes from time the visitors from Barcelona took all three points, when Tamudo scored his second goal of the night.
Sevilla slipped to their second successive league defeat, while Arouna Koné made his second appearance for the Andalusian club.
