The UEFA Referees Committee today announced the referee for Tuesday night's UEFA Champions League clash Internazionale v PSV at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. The second group stage match will be handled by the Greek referee Kyros Vassaras. PSV enjoyed a 2-1 win at home over CSKA Moscow in their group stage opening game, while Inter suffered a 1-0 defeat against Fenerbahçe SK.

Kyros Vassaras is no stranger to PSV. He was last referee at the Philips Stadium on 21 February 2006, when PSV took on Olympique Lyon. The Eindhoven club suffered a 1-0 defeat, although Lyon were reduced to ten men after Vassaras had given Govou his marching orders. The season before Vassaras took charge of the semi-final first leg between AC Milan and PSV. The hosts beat PSV 2-0, thanks to goals from Sjevchenko and Tomasson. PSV failed to reach the final, although they pulled off a 3- 1 win in the thrilling return leg in Eindhoven. Kyros Vassaras first met PSV on 15 February 2001, when he was the referee in their 2-1 win over AC Parma in a UEFA Cup match at the Philips Stadium. Internazionale - PSV kicks off on Tuesday night at 20:45. The PSV squad will leave for Milan from Eindhoven Airport on Monday morning at 10:30.
