Dirk Marcellis makes his first start tonight, partnering Carlos Salcido at the heart of defence. So Marcellis is included in the starting line-up for the first team and he will face his former club VVV-Venlo, where he started his career as a youth player. Farfán and Méndez are rested and drop to the bench.

Koeman brings in Marcellis at the expense of defender Eric Addo, who starts on the bench, when PSV take on VVV-Venlo at the Philips Stadium at 19:30. At Friday's briefing Koeman told media representatives that PSV always want to play on the attack and the PSV head coach has kept his promise, handing starts to Danny Koevermans and Danko Lazovic strike partner up front, with Kenneth Perez and Otman Bakkal operating off the two strikers. PSV strengthened their creative options in midfield by welcoming back Ismail Aissati to the starting fold. The Brazilian Jonathan has been dropped from the squad. Koeman has decided to rest Farfán as well as Edison Méndez, because they have done a lot of travelling in the last international football week.
PSV starting line-up:
Gomes, Kromkamp, Marcellis, Salcido, Zonneveld, Simons, Aissati, Bakkal, Perez, Koevermans and Lazovic.
Substitutes: Roorda, Méndez, Alcides, Farfán, Addo, Fagner and Van der Leegte
