Young PSV slipped to a 2-1 defeat against FC Groningen at De Herdgang training centre on Monday night. Jonathan Reis gave Anton Janssen's team the lead, but were left empty-handed after the visitors scored two goals either side of the break.

The first half was an equally contested affair, but PSV scored the opening goal on the half hour mark. Yannick Rymenants rounded an opponent before delivering the perfect cross for Jonathan Reis: 1-0. Five minutes from the break FC Groningen were level again, when Dennis Krohne scored an equaliser. Soon after the break Paul Voss wasted a golden opportunity to put his side on top again. The tall striker first hit the post before he headed the rebound wide of the goal. With the match heading for a draw, the ball fell to substitute Graham Ramalho, who struck the winning goal, blasting his shot into the top corner of the net. Jonathan was included in the starting line-up, and other senior players getting a runout were Mika Väyrynen, John de Jong and Slobodan Rajković, who featured in a PSV shirt for the first time.

Young PSV starting line-up:
Cássio Ramos, Munz, Van Berlo, Heerkens, Rajković, Achenteh, Väyrynen, Wuytens, Jonathan, De Jong and Rymenants (46, Voss').
Substitutes: Kaya, Schijvenaars, Voss, Hikspoors, Neervoort and Flu.
