Carlos Salcido operates as left back, when PSV play host to Fenerbahçe SK in their third UEFA Champions League group stage match at the Philips Stadium on Tuesday night. Eric Addo, who was rested on Saturday, is back at the heart of the PSV defence, where he partners Dirk Marcellis. Jan Kromkamp retains his place in the team as right back, while Danko Lazovic starts up front alongside Jefferson Farfn.
Danny Koevermans starts on the bench, but PSV head coach Ronald Koeman may give him some playing time later during the game. Kenneth Perez, who scored a crucial goal against CSKA Moscow on Matchday 1, plays off the strikers, alongside Otman Bakkal, who scored the opening goal in PSV's 3-1 victory against VVV-Venlo on Saturday. Edison Mndez is expected to provide balance to the PSV midfield.
Ronald Koeman's decision to hand a start to young Marcellis at the heart of defence, may be remarkable, but does not come as a surprise. Koeman intimated last weekend that he might keep faith with the young defender, who so impressed against VVV- Venlo on Saturday.
Marcellis comes in for Mike Zonneveld who drops to the bench. Marcellis makes his second start in the Champions league, after he was given his first taste of European action against Liverpool last year. .
PSV starting line-up:
Gomes, Kromkamp, Marcellis, Addo, Salcido, Simons, Mndez, Bakkal, Perez, Lazovic and Farfn.
Substitutions: Roorda, Zonneveld, Alcides, Aissati, Koevermans, Fagner and Van der Leegte.
