Jan Wouters analysed his side's 2-1 defeat against sc Heerenveen at the post-match press conference and the PSV interim coach was not the only one who thought that a draw would have been a fairer result. Heerenveen came from a goal down to beat PSV at the Abe Lenstra Stadium on Saturday night and Heerenveen boss Gertjan Verbeek was delighted with the fighting spirit shown by his players.

'I thought we started well', said Wouters. 'We set up several flowing moves, but our final touches lacked accuracy. We then became sloppy in our build up, frequently losing possession of the ball, so we were overrun in midfield. We took the lead and after the break we defended one to one. We controlled the game in the second half and there were chances for both sides. I think a draw would have been a fair result for both teams.'
Heerenveen coach Gertjan Verbeek was content his team had shown resilience after Danko Lazovic had scored the opening goal. 'We kept PSV at bay in the thrilling closing stages and I think, all in all, we deserved to win.'
