Jan Wouters realistically reviewed his team's 2-0 defeat against Fenerbahçe at the post-match press conference at the Sükrü Saracoglu Stadium. The PSV caretaker coach admitted that PSV had lost a lot of possession, but added that he couldn't reproach his players for their efforts, as they had given their all.

'We did well in the first fifteen minutes and conceded little, but after that we were sloppy and lost a lot of possession. Once we were two goals down, we couldn't make amends. We gave our all tonight and I can't reproach the lads for their efforts', said Jan Wouters at the post-match press conference.
Wouters told media representatives that PSV only mathematically have a chance of reaching the next round, with two games in hand. 'Nothing has been decided, but our expectations must be realistic. We face an uphill battle, for even if we win our last two group stage games, we are dependent on our competitors' results. So our aim is to go to the UEFA Cup.'
Wouters thought PSV should not feel ashamed to have suffered defeat against Fenerbahçe in Istanbul, emphasizing once again the strength of all the teams in Group G. 'Losing is part of the game. We will now focus on Sunday's clash with AZ, another improtant game.'
