PSV MEDIA â€' PSV General Manager Jan Reker announced on Tuesday morning that PSV have broken open the contract with Ibrahim Afellay, reviewed it upwards and extended it. The 21-year-old midfielder, who joined PSV twelve years ago in the 1996/97 season, has pledged his future to the club by signing a contract extension that will keep him at the Philips Stadium until 30 June 2011.
Midfielder Afellay had come through the ranks at PSV, when he made his PSV senior debut in the 2003/04 campaign. He soon became a first-team regular and was called up to the Netherlands squad. He has made four appearances for the Dutch national team so far.
'PSV are absolutely delighted with the extension. Afellay is a key player and he is going to make an even greater impact during the next few seasons. This great news for PSV', said Reker.
