PSV MEDIA - After Ibrahim Afellay had already signed a contract extension to his current contract which will keep him in Eindhoven until 2011, Carlos Salcido has also pledged his near future to PSV by signing a two-year contract extension. The Mexican international, who has adapted well and has become a key player after he joined PSV in 2006, has signed a new, improved contract, which runs until the summer of 2012. His former contract was to due to expire in 2010.
PSV had already indicated before that they would like to reward the excellent performances of the 27-year-old with a contract extension. The defender, born in Ocotlán, joined PSV from the Mexican club Guadalajara in 2006. He made his PSV debut on 13 August 2006, when PSV met Ajax in the Johan Cruijff Shield contest and has been installed as deputy captain. 'We are very happy about this. We are keen to keep all of our key players', said PSV General Manager Jan Reker.
