Jan Wouters conducted the weekly media briefing at De Herdgang training centre, ahead of Friday's Eredivisie encounter with Roda JC. One of the main topics was obviously the consternation arising from an interview with Gomes, who has revealed he may well leave PSV after the club delayed offering him a new contract. 'PSV will do their utmost to make sure he will extend his contract with the club. Meanwhile we will focus exclusively on Friday's game and so will Gomes', said PSV's caretaker coach.

Wouters told media representatives on Thursday afternoon that he has taken the consternation surrounding Gomes for granted. 'PSV will do their utmost to make sure he will extend his contract with the club. Meanwhile we will focus exclusively on Friday's game and so will Gomes. I talked to him and he understood our mutual interest in getting a good result against Rod JC. We will operate as a team tomorrow night. We all have one goal in mind: prepare thoroughly and win games. Gomes has done very well in training and he is in a cheerful mood today, as always.'
Wouters said Danny Koevermans would fill in for Danko Lazovic, who serves a one-match ban. Young Brazilian Jonathan is added to the eighteen-man squad. Van der Leegte, De Jong and Kromkamp, who successfully underwent surgery this week, are all ruled out for tomorrow night's game, but Da Costa is back in full training and has joined up with the PSV squad. 'He has returned to full fitness, but obviously lacks match fitness. He will step up his rehabilitation programme, supervised by a fitness coach', said Wouters.
