Ghana coach Claude Le Roy has named PSV defender Eric Addo in his squad for the Africa Cup of Nations. The 2008 African Cup of Nations, hosted by Ghana, will be the 26th edition of the football championship of Africa. The tournament kicks off in fifteen days and will be held between January 20 and February 10, 2008.
Addo is one of the 26 players named by Le Roy in the line up for the hosts. The squad will be trimmed down to 23 by January 10th. Stephen Appiah, who is currently injured, has also received a call-up. The Fenerbahçe SK player and captain of the national team, who is widely regarded as the heart and soul of the squad, is frequently partnered with Addo in midfield. Ghana kick off the tournament against Guinea in the opening game at the Accra Sports Stadium on January 20th and will also meet Namibia and Morocco.
