PSV head coach Sef Vergoossen confirmed at the media briefing at De Herdgang training centre on Tuesday afternoon ahead of PSV's vital clash at Ajax that midfielder Ismail Aissati could make a return to action. Vergoossen admitted that Ajax v PSV is an emotionally-charged fixture but added that he will prepare the squad for the crucial game in the usual way.

Aissati, who was ruled out of Saturday's encounter with Excelsior, joined his team mates for full training on Tuesday morning. 'He has been making good progress in his recovery from an Achilles tendon injury', explained Vergoossen. The PSV head coach predicted that Ajax will have a different game plan from teams like VVV, Sparta and Excelsior who adopt more defensive strategies when they take on PSV. 'This game will be different as Ajax will not constantly keep many players behind the ball and may concede some space at the back. But let's put things in perspective: this is just of the 34 league fixtures, although I must admit this fixture is always an emotionally-charged one. But there will be three points at stake, like at any other game, and we want to take them off Ajax.'
