Assistant coach Dwight Lodeweges analysed the entertaining game at the post-match press conference, where he replaced head coach Sef Vergoossen who had fallen ill. Lodeweges praised Heerenveen's commitment and paid the Frisians a compliment for their good performance. He said that PSV had conceded too much space at the back when they moved forward in a bid to double their lead.

Heerenveen coach Gertjan Verbeek felt that his side's 1-1 draw was a missed opportunity to beat PSV in Eindhoven. He said: 'We are disappointed as we created plenty of chances to have won the match. But I am happy we have made progress this season. We created a host of chances against the reigning champions at the Philips Stadium, but Gomes is an awesome goalkeeper and he kept PSV in the game, pulling of a string of incredible saves. At the end of the day we have to settle for this 1-1 draw and I am proud we have given PSV a severe test', concluded Verbeek.

Dwight Lodeweges told the media representatives that PSV survived some scares after they had taken a flying start. 'We got opportunities to score a second and even third goal and could have finished them off, but we didn't play well in the second half. We conceded too much space at the back when we moved forward in a bid to double our lead.' Lodeweges hailed Gomes for another impressive performance. 'He played very well yet again today. I want to pay Heerenveen a compliment for their good performance. They are a great side. We have introduced a new game plan, but lack consistency. We are working hard to make things better. I am glad we held on for a draw. We are still nine points clear of Heerenveen, following tonight's result and that's what matters most tonight', said Lodeweges.
