PSV MEDIA - PSV completed the signing of Nordin Amrabat from VVV-Venlo for an undisclosed fee on Monday. The attacking midfielder, who joined VVV-Venlo from FC Omniworld back in July, has put pen to paper on a four year contract.
Amrabat was delighted with the move to the reigning champions. 'I played for the amateurs of FC Omniworld only two seasons ago', said Amrabat, who was being linked with several clubs. 'sc Heerenveen expressed an interest in me and the clubs had already reached an agreement over a transfer, but when PSV made an effort to sign me and made me a good offer, I didn't have to think twice. It is the dream of every footballer to want to move on and improve yourself - and the ultimate is to play for such a big team as PSV.'
Both current PSV head coach Sef Vergoossen and Huub Stevens, who will take charge of PSV next season, called Amrabat, who is a Dutch Under-21 international, to congratulate him on his transfer to PSV, while Ibrahim Afellay and Ismail Aissati sent him a text message. 'I know them very well. They are U-21 team mates, just like Dirk Marcellis.' Nordin Amrabat began his football career at the amateur club HSV Zuidvogels. After spells at the Ajax academy and the amateur club SV Huizen, he joined FC Omniworld.
