Tottenham Hotspur will be without defender Gilberto when they attempt to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg. The defender, whose defensive slip enabled Jefferson Farfán to score the only goal of the night last week, has been dropped from the squad for tonight's UEFA Cup Round of 16 return leg at the Philips Stadium. Tottenham Hotspur manager Ramos is set to include Jermaine Jenas in his starting eleven, after the midfielder recovered from the blow he received to his ankle in the first leg.
PSV go into the game boosted by the fact they have not suffered many defeats against English sides at the Philips Stadium before. They have played 13 games against English sides in UEFA competition, winning five and drawing five. They lost only three matches: against Nottingham Forest in 1983 (1-2), against Arsenal in 2002 (0-4) and against Liverpool in 2007 (0-3). PSV enjoyed a 1-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur at White Heart Lane in the UEFA Cup Round of 16 first leg, thanks to a goal Jefferson Farfán. The Peruvian striker robbed Gilberto of possession before lashing the ball home. The Brazilian international, who is not injured nor suspended, has not made the trip to Eindhoven. Midfielder Jermaine Jenas is fit after recovering from the ankle injury he sustained during the first leg and is set to start tonight.
