PSV head coach Sef Vergoossen was disappointed his team had dropped two precious points in the dying seconds, but admitted at the post-match press conference that Roda JC fully deserved their share of the spoils. 'It's too bad we conceded the goal in the dying seconds, but Roda JC got the leveller that their pressure deserved.'
PSV play host to Ajax at the Philips Stadium on Wednesday, after they had seen their lead at the summit of the Eredivisie cut to four points as Roda JC midfielder Marcel Meeuwis had scored a last-gasp equaliser. 'We knew we would face a difficult task and expected a hot Sunday afternoon', started Vergoossen his analysis of the game. 'The agile Roda JC midfielders provided tough opposition, preventing us from putting up pressure on their defence. Roda were the better team in the first half. After the break, it was a closely contested game and the opening goal could have gone either way. We were lucky to open the scoring and I can only reproach my players for not having doubled the advantage once we were on top. We had some chances to extend our lead and we knew Roda JC would surge forward in large numbers during the closing stages. It's too bad we conceded the goal in the dying seconds, but Roda JC got the leveller that their pressure deserved.'

Roda JC-trainer Raymond Atteveld brought on two extra strikers in a desperate bid to salvage a point. 'We had nothing to lose and even our keeper joined the attack. I am very happy we managed to score a late-gasp equaliser. I think we fully deserved to take at least one point from the game', concluded Atteveld.
