Koevermans dropped from provisional squad (PSV.nl)

Holland coach Marco van Basten has reduced his provisional squad for the European Championship in Austria and Switzerland from 29 players to 26 and PSV forward Koevermans is one of the players that have been dropped from the squad. The 29-year old striker scored the winning goal for the Dutch in the qualification game against Luxembourg on 17 November 2007 to seal their place in the finals. It was one of the highlights in his career, along with winning the Dutch title with PSV in 2008.

Ajax defender Urby Emanuelson, Kew Jaliens of AZ and Hedwiges Maduro of Valencia have also been dropped from the provisional squad. Ibrahim Afellay is now the only PSV player who is included in the squad that starts prepraing for the Euro 2008 on Tuesday. Van Basten will announce his final 23-man squad of twenty players and three goalkeepers by May 28 at the latest, so two more players and one keeper will be dropped.
