There was a mixed bag of results and fortunes for the PSV players away on international duty last weekend. Two of them were on the winning side, while one of them tasted defeat. At World Cup 2010 level, Iraq inflicted a surprise 1-0 defeat over Jason Culina's Australia. Eric Addo's Ghana enjoyed a 3-2 victory against Lesotho.
Australia suffer defeat
Maza Rodríguez did not feature in Mexico's 4-0 thrashing of Peru in Chicago, but Carlos Salcido made an appearance for his country. Salcido was taken off in the closing stages and replaced by AZ defender Héctor Moreno. Australia suffered a 1-0 defeat against Iraq in a World Cup 2010 qualification game. Jason Culina played the full ninety minutes, but could not prevent the Iraqis from scoring the winning goal on the half-hour mark.
Eric Addo's Ghana record victory
Eric Addo played the entire match as Ghana recorded a 3-2 victory against Lesotho in a 2010 World Cup qualifying match played in Bloemfontijn, South Africa., while Quincy Owusu-Abeyie came on as a substitute.
