On Friday morning, the PSV first team squad prepared for the first pre-season friendly against local amateurs v.v. Gestel on Saturday night. This season's first run-out is actually a derby as it would only take ten minutes to ride a bike from De Herdgang training facilities or the Philips Stadium to Gestel.
First pre-season friendly
Edison Méndez is ruled out of tomorrow night's run-out. The midfielder, who had sustained a muscle tear during his holidays in Ecuador, trained separately from the group on Friday morning again. Otman Bakkal, Dirk Marcellis and Erik Pieters, who have been included in the final 18-man Dutch team for next month's Olympic Games in Beijing, will be at Sportpark Dommelzuid on Saturday night. They will report to their Olympic training camp in Oisterwijk on Sunday. The PSV squad will also be in Oisterwijk next week where they hold a pre-season training camp.
