The PSV squad has returned from their mid-winter break training camp in the United Arabic Emirates. PSV Media sounded out the reactions from some players."It’s been a very good training camp. We’ve worked well and we’ve worked hard ", explained André Ooijer.”It’s of paramount importance to be able to train for so many days in a row and take some rest. It’s been a wonderful preparation to the second part of the campaign. We’re now physically in great shape."Captain Mark van Bommel could only agree. "The conditions were perfect: the accommodation was very good, the facilities were excellent and the pitches were great. It was a shame, though, that Jefferson Farfán and Phillip Cocu couldn’t join us. They are two key players. However, 24 players of the squad have been able to train well in a concentrated way."Edwin Zoetebier thought Abu Dhabi was a special place. "The people are friendly and always anxious to help you", felt the goalkeeper, who added that the atmosphere in the squad is wonderful.” We are like one family; the foreign players and the Dutch lads get together very well. We have fun and we play the odd practical joke, but we stick up for ourselves and fanatically play some games of football during the intensive training sessions." DaMarcus Beasley went to a training camp in the middle of the season for the first time in his career as a professional football player. There is no such interruption to the campaign in the United States of America. "We don’t know of mid-winter break training camps. Yet this is good way of preparing for the second part of the season. I’ve noticed that the players are fit again. I myself can’t wait to play a lot of official games soon."Just like his players, Guus Hiddink was content. "It is not often that we can spend so much time together. That’s a positive start to the second period of the season. Having worked together so well has certainly boosted our self confidence. It’s a shame we didn’t participate in a tournament, which was the original plan. But then again, we have been able to train for five days in succession and we played one warm-up friendly, in which both Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and John de Jong made a comeback. They have been on the pitch for the full 45 minutes. The absence of Cocu and Farfán was a setback. Cocu, in particular, is also a key player off the pitch. But all in all I am quite happy", concluded Hiddink.
