The PSV squad flew out of Eindhoven on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 3pm, taking off for Newcastle where they have a five-day training camp. Two friendlies are scheduled this week: Huub Stevens's team will meet Newcastle United on Wednesday night in a pre-season friendly and face Everton in Liverpool on Saturday.
Return flight on Saturday
The PSV squad, coaching staff and officials took off from Eindhoven Airport at approximately 3pm, heading for Newcastle. Wednesday night's pre-season friendly against the Magpies kicks off at St James' Park at 7.45pm local time. PSV will train in Newcastle on Thursday morning before they make the trip to Liverpool in the afternoon. They will have two training sessions in Liverpool on Friday and the squad will also be on the training pitch on Saturday morning, ahead of the friendly against the Toffees. The squad will fly back home straight after Saturday night's game. The players will be given the Sunday off and resume their pre-season training programme on Monday as they enter the fifth week of pre-season.
PSV.nl as well as PSV TV
After having taken on VVV-Venlo and Sporting Club before, PSV will now face formidable opponents, as they meet Premier League giants Newcastle United and Everton. Huub Stevens will use the two games as measuring stick. PSV had a pre-season training camp in England in the summer of 2006, when they met Stoke City and, again, Newcastle United in pre-season friendlies. During the 2006/07 season, PSV were drawn with Liverpool twice in the Champions League. They were paired with The Reds in the group stages and also in the quarter-finals. PSV Media will join the squad for the trip to England and both PSV.nl and PSV TV Online will cover all events.
