PSV MEDIA â€' After Stef Nijland had passed his medical with flying colours on Monday afternoon, the young forward went to Philips Stadium to complete formalities, accompanied by his agent, father and brother. PSV's General Manager Jan Reker handed Nijland the number 16 shirt.
Tuesday morning training
Nijland put pen to paper on a five-year deal in the directors' box and met several club officials. He gave his first interview as a PSV player to PSV TV. The forward said it was wonderful to be in Eindhoven and is looking forward to joining his new team mates at the Tuesday morning training session.
'Talked to the manager'
'Just fancy this, I was at FC Groningen's Fan Day yesterday and now I am here. I am really surprised things have been wrapped up so quickly. It is wonderful to be here' told Nijland, who has just turned 20 years old, PSV TV. 'I spoke to the manager and I cannot wait to get started here. Actually I had not expected to make this move yet, but it is just terrific.'
Professional debut
Nijland joins PSV from FC Groningen, where he made his professional debut only last season. 'The future looks bright, but I fully realise that I will have to do my very best to show I can do well for PSV and break into the first team. This is great', said Nijland. After Nijland had been shown the Philips Stadium, he was unveiled to the press. Nijland then had a look at his new apartment in the centre of the town of Eindhoven, near the Philips Stadium.
