PSV will begin the defence of their Eredivisie title away at FC Utrecht. Huub Stevens is looking forward to the season's curtain raiser on Saturday afternoon. The PSV head coach, who believes in an attacking style of play, feels his team are ready for the season's opening game. He told media representatives at the weekly press briefing that the pre-season campaign had been far from perfect as some players were injured, three players played at the Olympic Games and some players were away on international duty.
Roorda and Kromkamp
PSV are set to be without goalkeeper Bas Roorda and defender Jan Kromkamp for the trip to FC Utrecht on Saturday. 'Roorda is making good progress in his recovery from a back injury but will not be ready to face FC Utrecht. Kromkamp continues the rehabilitation of his injured knee. Edison Méndez trained all week, and faces a late fitness test.' Stevens is satisfied with the progress youngster Stijn Wuytens is making and added that Stef Nijland, who joined PSV on Monday, has adapted well. FC Utrecht - PSV kicks off on Saturday at 2.30pm.
